Hon. Ezechi Praises Medical Outreach, Urges Improved Healthcare Access in His Constituency
The representative of Ndokwa East/Ndokwa West/Ukwuani Federal Constituency in Delta State at the 10th Assembly, Hon. Nnamdi Ezechi, has expressed fulfillment over his recent medical outreach program in his constituency, describing it as a “best way to go” in addressing the healthcare challenges faced by his constituents. “Health is wealth,” he said, emphasizing that the initiative, which provided free medical services, surgeries, and medications to hundreds in rural areas, was long overdue.
Hon. Ezechi made this statement on Wednesday, November 12, while speaking with journalists at his office in Abuja. Ezechi explained that the motivation behind the medical outreach was the fact that his constituents hardly access healthcare services. He noted, “With the remarks and reactions we have gotten from this event, it actually shows that our people are in dire need of medical attention.”

The lawmaker promised to continue reaching out to his people with subsequent medical outreaches to ensure the three local government areas he represents at the National Assembly are adequately catered for, medically and otherwise. “A lot of elderly people—our fathers and mothers—sometimes don’t have the funds to cater for their health. Taking the medical trip to the villages has helped them a lot. It is commendable, and I’m glad my constituents are happy,” he said.
The outreach, conducted across three local governments, served “hundreds and thousands,” offering relief to those unable to afford care. “The people are happy,” he said. “This is the best way to reach them.”
“We are not stopping at healthcare,” he added, announcing plans to improve electricity and education in the region. The lawmaker, who recently joined the All Progressives Congress (APC), credited the Tinubu administration with fostering development, including the establishment of a federal university in his constituency and an industrial park attracting multinational companies.
He described the quality free trade zone as “another great opportunity,” engaging not less than 5,000 to 6,000 youth from the region, emphasizing that the job opportunities would benefit the entire Delta State and Nigeria. “Multinational companies, outside the oil and gas industry, are collaborating with the state government to ensure employment opportunities are given to our people,” he said.
Ezechi noted that Ndokwa is blessed with abundant natural resources and urged investors to seize the opportunity, assuring them of a business-friendly environment and the constituency’s peaceful nature. “Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, is going ro provide an enabling environment for business to thrive. The zone is the most peaceful federal constituency in Nigeria—a good ground for investments. I call on investors to come and invest,” he said.

However, he expressed concern over the underutilization of a newly built market in Kwale, urging the local council to allocate stores fairly and ensure its operation. “The market belongs to the government, not a community,” he stressed.
On a motion he introduced, the lawmaker called for a probe into irregularities at NNPC Limited, urging the House Committee on Gas Resources to report within four weeks. “Lawmakers make laws and oversee implementation. We will ensure accountability,” he said.
The legislator dismissed criticism of his party switch, stating it was a “collective decision” to align with the APC’s resources and avoid PDP’s internal crises. He remains optimistic about Delta’s future, citing peace and investment opportunities.
